7/1: Sounds and Audacity

1)
                           Noise Greensleeves
I was inspired by the annoying and creepy noises I found in my bedroom. I can no longer use my air conditioner because it makes an unbearable ruckus noise. My heater makes a terrible  high pitched squeak....  I had just watch the movie Witch and was moved by the creepy music I found in it :

I Liked how this soundtrack combnes creepy noises with pretty music . So I tried to  make my own horror sound track by combining my creepy bedroom noises with a recording of me playing Greenleeves on the harp.

It came out like this : https://soundcloud.com/sarah-940969003/noise-greensleeves

2) Sound is everywhere in my life and art.Everywhere I go I might  hear people talking, the sound of elevators, air conditioning , heat, music, people walking, cracking their joints, the wind blowing, the sea crashing,  leaves rustling.  In art, all art materials can make different noises. I can not think of any art medium or experience that doesn't have noise... well , I kinda can. I once went to an amazing show at the Pompidou which  was basically a room made to muffle sound. It was quieter than anywhere I have been before. But that quietness felt numb, meditative.

In school, sound is also everywhere. For example, the very first day of processes and structures we had to figure out the noises that paper could make; it could squeak, clap, patter... In this class, I made a beautiful cacophony of noise for the audacity project.
